Activity - "Painting" With Baking Soda and Vinegar
So, I got this idea from Pinterest - but there was only a picture. Here is what we did:
Step 1
Gather supplies - Lots of baking soda, some vinegar, food colouring, small containers, a large cake pan (preferably clear), and an eyedropper.
Step 2
Put a reasonably thick layer of baking soda into the pan/dish.
Step 3
Put about a 1/4 cup of vinegar into numerous small containers.
Step 4
Colour the vinegar with your food colouring (make each container a different colour)
Step 5
Have fun! Use the eyedropper to suck up the coloured vinegar and squirt it into the baking soda pan. It will fizz up, and leave behind a coloured mark.
Josie had fun with this, but her attention span only lasted for about 5 minutes. Cleanup was quick and easy (yay dishwasher). She liked sticking her fingers in the bubbles that occurred :-) A fun little activity to do when you're looking for something a little different!
